How can I help you and your company? The answer is – with your people.

I bring many years of international experience to help you solve people problems in your company. Take a look below at some of the issues I can help with.

Strategy

Do you have a people strategy? Are you happy with it? Perhaps you are finding it hard to recruit or retain the talent your company needs. Are your teams functioning optimally? Do you know enough about how your employees feel; are they engaged? Is your company the right size? If not, what can you do about it? Are you happy with your company’s ‘culture’?

Strategy

Development

Promote a good salesperson to a sales manager; you may lose sales and gain a bad manager. Managing for the first time differs from anything most people have done. Some people adapt well and learn fast. Others struggle and seem doomed to fail. What a tragedy for the person and your company.

Yet, everyone has talent and can learn. A management training course may help. But each person is different. Training also needs the person to process the learning internally to change their behaviour. This needs personal care and support.

Sounds familiar? I have helped develop managers for many years and know the issues. Let’s talk.

Development

Teams

‘Away days’ and games may help your teams feel better – and that’s good. But real learning takes place with doing. My project-based team-building programmes help solve real-life problems while also improving communications across and within teams. Silos become more porous. Antagonisms reduce. Co-operation and goodwill increase.

The bonus is that your company solves problems as well. To know more about how I can help, why not get in touch?

Coaching

Almost everyone needs a coach at times. A goal-focused process can help you, or a member of your team, be more effective at work and in their personal life. We cannot coach ourselves. We need an outside, dispassionate, view of what may be emotional and complex problems. Coaches cannot solve them. But they encourage people to look at themselves to learn how best to solve the problems that concern them.

The bonus is that your company solves problems as well. To know more about how I can help, why not get in touch?

Training

Sometimes there is no substitute for a targeted training course for a group or an individual. Over the years, I have developed, refined, and delivered many business courses. These include:

  • Presentation skills
  • Effective business writing
  • Interviewing skills
  • Cross-cultural understanding
  • Mediation and dispute resolution
  • Performance management

While I was the Managing Partner of a UK-based executive search firm, Brian helped us develop annual plans; he ran workshops and then helped distil the results to simple, clear objectives and strategic pillars. We re-visited this exercise annually for three years.

While a Board member at one of the world’s oldest global Search and consulting organisations, I and fellow Directors worked with Brian to build a 5-year strategic plan that was both comprehensive and comprehensible to colleagues around the world; this led to a complete change to the group’s strategy and also a full review of corporate governance, which Brian helped with.

Throughout all of this time, Brian has been a powerful coach, mentor and friend to me, always listening with patience, thinking creatively and helping me to come to better decisions than would otherwise have been the case. He is a delight to know and a pleasure to work with.
